The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to launch a brand new trophy for the upcoming eight edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL 8 2023), which is scheduled to begin on February 13 in Multan and conclude on March 19 in Lahore, with matches also being held in Karachi and Rawalpindi.
A ceremony to unveil the new PSL 8 2023 trophy will take place at Shalimar Bagh in Lahore on February 9 in the presence of the captains of all six franchises and PCB Management Committee Chairman, Najam Sethi.
A brand new trophy with a fresh design will be presented to last year’s (PSL 7) champions, the Lahore Qalandars.
The newly designed trophy will be presented to the winners of the eighth edition. PCB officials told Geo Sports that the trophy that was used and presented to winners of the last seven editions will no longer be available.
During the presentation, he stated that the design of the new PSL 8 trophy would provide a better presentation of Pakistan and its cricket. Hopefully, cricket fans around the world will enjoy the new trophy, he concluded.
PSL 8 2023 is scheduled to commence from February 13 with defending champions, Lahore Qalandars, going up against the Multan Sultans at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
